The 2017 Tournament of Roses Royal Court was on hand as Arroyo Vista Elementary School held its 32nd annual State Float Parade last Friday. As a way to study each state in the nation, fifth grade students at the school created floats using all-natural products just like those seen in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade to kick off the new year. The students worked diligently on their floats for months, researching important features of their selected state. In addition, as part of the project, each student wrote a book about their state. Following that effort, each fifth grader, starting with a basic blueprint, carefully began creating their entry on the base of wheels. More than 100 Arroyo Vista 5th graders were eager to share their floats with an appreciative crowd.
