Prior to final exams, which are underway this week, Ruth Moonesinghe, a teacher at South Pasadena High School, held her 8th annual “Calculus for a Cause” on campus. Students benefited last Friday by receiving a final review packet with sample test questions, along with three hours of tutoring in return for making a $20 donation to charity. “Calculus for a Cause” is a fundraiser organized by Moonesinghe and the SPHS Math Department, with all proceeds donated to Sri Lankan children with life-threatening illnesses. Funds will also go to improving mental health awareness in Sri Lanka. Above, from left, tutor Sara Jaime works with calculus students Maya Roshandel and Shelby Lee.
