Cirque du Soleil’s newest creation, Kurios, pitches it’s tent at Dodger Stadium

Runs through Feb. 7th Review by Alisa Hayashida

Whether you’ve never seen a Cirque du Soleil show, it’s been a while or you’re a diehard who has seen twelve of them, run, don’t walk, to see their newest creation, Kurios-Cabinet of Curiosities! Cirque du Soleil’s iconic blue and yellow tent has gone up in a new location, just down the road at Dodger Stadium for a two month run. I can say without hesitation that yes, indeed, it is worth every penny of the admission price. There really isn’t anything that compares to the experience of a Cirque show, especially under the big top; there’s acting, live music, gorgeous singing, clowning, dancing, ingenious costumes, stunning visuals and oh yes, death defying circus acts that leave you breathless!

Entering the chapiteau of Kurios, one is transported to the latter part of the nineteenth century where a “Seeker’s” cabinet of curiosities is opened to reveal a hidden, invisible world filled with fantastical, side-show, steampunk characters who take you on a spectacular journey. As always Cirque brings the crème de la crème of the world’s acrobats and circus acts to their shows, making for a unique and thoroughly entertaining experience. The child in you awakens as you marvel at the beautifully adorned characters flying above you, floating down from the ceiling and soaring to unbelievable heights performing mind-boggling feats of wonder. Among the crowd favorites are Columbians James Eulises and Gonzalez Correa performing the Rola Bola, a balancing act on cans and boards on a swing that is astonishing! Ukrainian, Andreii Bondarenko performs an inconceivable act with stacking chairs with a surprise twist that had the audience going berserk. A very special moment comes late in the show with the extraordinary “Hand Theater” performed by Nico Baixas of Spain. There are beautiful contortionists from Russia, aerialists from France and a myriad of acts from the US, Canada, Japan, Greece & Poland making for an international extravaganza for the senses that is simply not to be missed!

Kurios runs through Feb. 7th. For tickets: or 1-877-924-7783
