Clothes Encounter: Women’s Club To Hold Fashion-Show Benefit

Ellen Daigle

Fundraising never looked more stylish.

The Women’s Club of South Pasadena is hosting its annual fashion show at the Historic South Pasadena Clubhouse, 1424 Fremont Ave., on Saturday, Sept. 28, with proceeds from the event supporting the club’s scholarship program for South Pasadena High School seniors.

Local entrepreneur and activist Ellen Daigle will be honored with the “Shining Star” award at the luncheon for her contributions to the community, which include initiating the “We Are Watching Our Children” program. The award is presented to women who have demonstrated a commitment to philanthropic projects and are dedicated to public service.

Daigle also is the founder and owner of Ellen’s, a South Pasadena-based apparel printing and embroidery company, and previously served as Chair of the South Pasadena Public Safety Commission and of the Parks Commission. She has served on numerous boards and commissions for various organizations concerning youth, education, recreation, business and elections.

In addition to a fashion show by Chico’s, there will also be a catered lunch, raffle prizes, live music by Josh Aguiar and the opportunity to browse and shop boutique vendor sales before and after the show.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and admission is $45 per person. The deadline to make reservations is Sept. 23.
