Plans Underway for ‘Operation Cookie’

The Woman’s Club is busy planning this year’s “Operation Cookie” for hospitalized, homeless and special needs veterans. The event, sponsored by the Woman’s Club of South Pasadena, will be held on Wednesday May 24th at the Clubhouse.

“Operation Cookie” delivers decorative containers of cookies to Veteran’s Hospitals, to homeless veterans’ Centers, to the Wounded Warriors Battalion at Camp Pendleton, to Military Women in Need, the Foundation for Women Warriors, and to other groups serving veterans. The veterans especially enjoy home-made cookies, but donations of local bakery and pre packaged cookies are welcome. Sugar free cookies are also needed.

Cookies, a minimum of two dozen, can be delivered to the Clubhouse at 1424 Fremont Avenue between the hours of 7:00 am and 11:30 am, Wednesday, May 24th or the afternoon before, Tuesday, May 23, between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. The cookies will be packed and delivered in time for Memorial Day. The Club also needs volunteer help and welcomes financial donations to help defray cost of materials used for “Operation Cookie. For further information, call or text 213-300-9305 / Email:
