The community is invited to an Evensong service of contemplative music and prayer on Sunday at 6 p.m. to mark the 15th anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania.
Bishop Samuel Azariah, retired primate of the Anglican Church of Pakistan, will lead a reflection on the Christian response to terrorism.
The service will feature performances by the St. James’ choir, led by Sarah Gonzalez, and introduce founding members of Los Angeles Baroque Orchestra, including noted seismologist Dr. Lucy Jones on the viola de gamba. They will accompany Taize chants on strings and perform the 17th Century work “Lament on the Death of King Ferdinand” by Johann Heinrich Schmelzer.
The program is free of charge and nursery care will be provided. The church is located at 1325 Monterey Road, at the corner of Fremont Avenue. For more information, please call (626) 799-9194 or email email@example.com.
