There’s a brand new storyteller in town ready to regale children with tales of wonder and adventure! His name is Julian and every Saturday you may join him at 10:30am at the lovely and spacious Flintridge Bookstore & Coffeehouse at 1010 Foothill Blvd in La Canada for “Storytime with Julian”.

With dramatic flair, Julian treats pre-school children to stories from the shelves of the bookstore, engaging them in conversation about the books’ characters, images and messages.

Storyteller Julian Licht

Flintridge Bookstore has a large children’s section, featuring a selection of titles from picture books to step readers to chapter books and more for all levels and ages.

Flintridge began their storytime in the store’s original location just a few buildings east of the current location and it has become an on-going weekly program. Besides their own storyteller extraordinaire, Julian, they periodically host special events for guest authors. Some recent appearances have been by Maral Sassouni, the award-winning book illustrator of “The Green Umbrella”, Emilie Nunn, the 16 year old author/illustrator of “Harriet and Philadelphia: BFFs” and most recently Rose Nielsen, who came with therapy dogs, Blondie and Luke, a golden retriever couple, to read Valentine’s titles.
