The Weekly Crime Summary is a list of reported auto thefts, burglaries, robberies and other activities occurring in the City of South Pasadena.  An alert and well-informed citizen makes you less of a target to a criminal.  Remember; call the South Pasadena Police Department to report any suspicious activity.

STOLEN VEHICLE

10-14-16, 7:30 PM to 10-15-16, 9:30 AM, 1800 block of Hardison.  ’93, Honda Civic.

ROBBERY

10-15-16, 10:53 PM, 1300 block of Lyndon.  Victim completes ATM transaction at Chase Bank and crosses the street, when suspects drive up and S1 exits vehicle.  S1 simulates a gun and demands money from victim.  Victim refuses and walks away.  S1 then walks back to suspect vehicle and drives away.  SUSPECT VEHICLE: ’15, Black, Chevy Camero.  SUSPECTS DESCRIPTION: S1 – Male, Hispanic or Middle Eastern, 18-20 years, thin build, wearing a white hoodie, black jeans and a black and white checker bandana. 

AUTO BURGLARY

10-14-16, 11 PM to 10-15-16, 7 AM, 1900 block of Milan.  ’02, Nissan Frontier.  Suspect(s) smashes vehicle’s window to gain entry and takes loss.  LOSS: Tools.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

  • 10-18-16, 9:52 PM, 1200 block of Via Del Rey. Suspects smash rear sliding glass door to gain entry.  Suspects enter and alarm activates.  Suspects flee with no loss.  LOSS:   SUSPECTS DESCRIPTION: S1 – Male, Black, 20 years, wearing dark colored sweat shirt with hood, dark colored pants and gloves.  S2 – Male, Black, 20 years, wearing dark colored hooded sweat shirt with Adidas logo and gloves. S3 – Unknown.
  • 10-18-16, 7 PM to 9 PM, 1700 block of Via Del Rey. Suspect(s) gain entry through an opened rear window.  LOSS:
  • 10-14-16, 1 PM to 10-17-16, 9 AM, 200 block of St. Albans. Suspect(s) gains entry possibly through an opened window.  LOSS: Camera bag containing camera and equipment.
  • 10-16-16, 5:31 PM, 1800 block of Alpha. Suspect(s) smashes rear sliding door to gain entry and activates alarm.  Suspect(s) flee without taking any loss.  LOSS:
  • 10-15-16, 12:45 PM to 4:36 PM, 300 block of Camino Del Sol. Suspect(s) smashes rear sliding glass door to gain entry.  LOSS:
  • 10-14-16, 6 PM to 10-15-16, 7:30 AM. 1500 block of Laurel.  Suspect(s) damages door lock to gain entry into apartment complex.  LOSS: 
  • 10-14-16, 11 AM to 9:15 PM, 1900 block of Leman. Suspect(s) smashes rear window to gain entry.  LOSS: Violin and gold medallion.
  • 10-14-16, 5 PM to 7:30 PM, 2000 of Monterey. Suspect(s) enters through an opened rear window and takes loss.  LOSS: Pistol and watches.
  • 10-13-16, 5 PM to 10 PM. 1200 block of Marengo (attempt).  Suspect(s) remove rear window screen and attempts to smash window, but fails to gain entry.  LOSS:
  • 10-13-16, 10:45 AM to 9:20 PM, 1000 block of Park. Suspect(s) enters through an opened window.  LOSS:
  • 10-12-16, 9:30 AM to 3:35 PM, 1600 block of Via Del Rey. Suspect(s) smashes rear French door glass to gain entry.  LOSS: Jewelry, cash and watches.

RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY

10-18-16, 2:53 AM, Monterey/Glendon Way.  Officers respond to a vehicle alarm sounding and contacts suspect walking in the street several blocks away.  Suspect is known to officers to have committed thefts in the past.  Suspect is found to have an outstanding warrant and in possession of stolen property.  SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, Black, 27, transient. 

DRUNK IN PUBLIC

  • 10-14-16, 10:12 PM, 1200 block of Huntington. Officer conducts a welfare check and finds subject to be intoxicated and unable to care for himself. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, White, 37 years.
  • 10-12-16, 12:47 PM, Monterey/Fairview. Officer responds to a subject walking in and out of traffic. Officers locate the subject who is found to be intoxicated and unable to care for himself. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, White, 37 years.

THEFT

  • 10-17-16, 5:00 PM to 10-18-16, 7:50 AM, 1400 block of Indiana. ’15 Toyota Prius. Suspect(s) enters victim’s unlocked vehicle and take loss. LOSS: Multi-tool (recovered), U.S. currency.
  • 10-17-16, 6:50 PM to 8:08 PM, 1100 block of Fair Oaks (Vons). Suspect places loss in stroller and leaves store without paying. LOSS: Baby formula (recovered). SUSPECT ARRESTED: Female, 25 years, Pasadena.
  • 10-16-16, 3:30 AM to 12:30 PM, 600 block of Prospect. ’15 Audi. Suspect(s) enters victim’s unlocked vehicle and take loss. LOSS:S. currency.
  • 10-15-16, 4:35 PM to 4:40 PM, Mission/Meridian. Suspect removes lock securing loss and takes loss. LOSS: SUSPECT DESCRIPTION: Male, White, 60 years, wearing a black helmet, black sunglasses, grey shirt and green cargo shorts.
  • 10-15-16, 8:13 AM to 8:27 AM, 700 block of Fair Oaks. Suspect takes loss from bin. LOSS: Shoes, clothes.
  • 10-15-16, 4:00 AM to 7:30 AM, 1500 block of Laurel. ’03 Toyota Tundra. Suspect(s) enters victim’s unlocked vehicle and take loss. LOSS: Power tools, miscellaneous painting tools.
  • 10-13-16, 4:44 PM to 5:22 PM, 1900 block of Fremont. Suspects use a grinder to remove loss from victim’s property. LOSS: Parking lot pole. SUSPECT DESCRIPTIONS: S1Male, White, 6’00, medium build, about 40 to 50 years, wearing a flannel. S2Male, White, medium built, about 40’s to 50’s years, wearing a flannel
  • 10-13-16, 4:03 PM to 4:30 PM, 1700 block of Garfield (Ralphs). Suspect takes unattended loss from shopping cart. LOSS: SUSPECT DESCRIPTION: Male, Hispanic, mid-30’s to 40’s, wearing a long sleeved flannel and jeans with a baseball cap.
  • 10-12-16, 3:24 PM to 4:31 PM, 800 block of Kendall. ’90 Ford Probe. Suspect(s) remove loss from victim’s vehicle. LOSS:
  • 10-12-16, 2:56 AM, 800 block of Fair Oaks. Officers on patrol conduct a pedestrian stop on suspicious subject. Subject was found to be in possession of several bank cards in other people’s names. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, White, 30 years, transient.
  • 10-11-16, 5:00 PM to 10-12-16, 8:00 AM, 1600 block of Ramona. ’15 Toyota. Suspect(s) enters victim’s unlocked vehicle and take loss. LOSS: Coin purse, gift cards, gym bag and cash.

FRAUD BY FALSE PRETENSE

  • 10-14-16, 4:19 PM, 1400 block of Bank. Suspect has an open house for an apartment for rent and meets several victims.  Suspect collects a fee for credit processing and victims’ later suspect has no right to property.
  • 10-12-16, 12:20 PM, 1400 block of Bank. Suspect advertises apartment for rent on Craigslist and meets victim.  Victim gives suspect deposit and later discovers suspect does not own property.
  • 10-11-16, 2 PM, 1400 block of Bank. Suspect advertises apartment for rent on Craigslist and meets victim.  Victim gives suspect deposit and later discovers suspect does not own property.

IDENTITY THEFT/CREDIT CARD FRAUD/CHECK FRAUD

  • 10-14-16, 9:56 AM to 10:51 AM, 1100 block of Mound. Suspect(s) gains access to victim’s credit card account and makes several unauthorized purchases.
  • 10-13-16, 10:09 AM to 10-14-16, 10:45 AM, 100 block of Monterey. Suspect(s) use victim’s bank card information to make unauthorized withdrawals.
  • 5-16-16, 12:00 AM to 10-10-16, 12:00 AM, 1200 block of Lyndon. Suspect(s) use victim’s credit card information to make unauthorized purchases.
  • 10-04-16, 8:00 AM, 2000 block of Milan. Suspect(s) use victim’s personal information to open an unauthorized checking account.
