Women Learn Self-Defense from South Pas Police Officers

110

WOMEN LEARNED HOW TO defend themselves and escape from critical situations as part of a self-defense class last Saturday by the South Pasadena Police Department at the War Memorial Building in the city. Instruction by officers Mike Palmieri and Richard Bernal included safety awareness, how to properly hit and kick, how to escape common holds, and how to fight while on the ground. Police Department officials say the free class will be presented to women ages 18 and up again in the futre. Participants must be South Pasadena residents and must pre-register to participate. A self-defense class for teens will also be scheduled in the future. For more information, visit www.southpasadenaca.gov/onlinereg or email Dawn Muench today at heydawn@gmail.com or (626) 403-6492.
