Young Stars Theater Holds Ribbon Cutting at Their New Home!

Jack and Gloria Bennett were full of emotion and excitement as they cut the ribbon at the new home of their company, Young Stars Theater at the beautiful Fremont Centre Theatre. Mayor Diana Mahmud was on hand to welcome YST to South Pasadena by saying how excited she was to have a new theatre company in town and to know that the arts in our community is continuing to grow and thrive. Chamber president Laurie Wheeler presented the Bennetts with a certificate congratulating YST on their Grand Opening on behalf of State Senator Carol Liu and a second one from California State Assemblymember Chris Holden.

Also in attendance were Chamber Chairperson, Kris Morrish, members of the press, the cast & crew of the current show Music Man Jr., other company members and their families and of course owners of Fremont Centre Theatre, James and Lissa Reynolds. It was an incredibly festive night as the company was preparing for the second weekend of performances of their lively production of Music Man Jr. Gloria Bennett shed a tear or two as the presentations were made as this is the realization of a long-held dream of finding a permanent home for their theatre company. Their goal is to make theatre accessible and affordable for all children. Want to boost your child’s love of reading? Teach your child to imagine the unimaginable? Cultivate artistic intelligence and curiosity? Get thee to the theater….and bring your kids!
