The South Pasadena High School varsity girls’ water polo team was eliminated from CIF-SS contention after losing at San Dimas, 19-6, in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 4 playoffs last Wednesday, Feb. 8.
Grace Markus tallied a team-high four goals while Allison Lee and Jaeda Reed each scored once. Despite the loss, goalie Reese Buckley registered 12 saves.
The Tigers entered the first-round playoff matchup on a three-game winning streak after defeating Pasadena’s Blair High twice (by scores of 9-5 and 15-1) and crushing Monrovia, 10-1, the first week of February. Individual statistics were not reported to the South Pasadena Review.
South Pasadena, which placed third in the Rio Hondo League, finished the season with a 6-4 record (6-7 overall).
