The South Pasadena High School varsity girls’ soccer team clinched second place in the Rio Hondo League with two victories last week, including a 6-1 win over visiting Monrovia in the regular season finale last Friday.
The Tigers previously shut out eventual league champion Temple City, 3-0, at home on Wednesday, Feb. 2. No individual statistics were reported to the Review.
South Pasadena (6-1-3 league record, 7-3-4 overall) is scheduled to open the first round of the CIF postseason at Paraclete High in Lancaster this Saturday, Feb. 12. Should the Tigers win, they will play either Costa Mesa (10-10-3) or California High of Whittier (17-8-2) in the second round on Wednesday, Feb. 16, at a site to be determined.
