The South Pasadena Majors All-Star Softball team captured the Little League District 18 championship on Thursday, June 27, at Orange Grove Park, defeating  South El Monte Little League, 18-4. The team had advanced to the championship game by defeating the same team from South El Monte earlier in the week, 6-0.

With their district title, the South Pas girls advanced to the Section 3 All-Star Tournament beginning June 29 in Azusa, but they fell short.

The girls lost Saturday to LaVerne Little League (District 20), 4-0, defeated Baldwin Park Little League (District 19), 15-0, but were eliminated Monday, losing to LaVerne, 3-0.

“We were the last softball team from South Pasadena still playing in the All-Star tournaments,’’ coach Kurtis Kan said.
