First published in the Oct. 29 print issue of the South Pasadena Review.

The city of South Pasadena invites residents to observe an electric lawn equipment demonstration from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 6, at Garfield Park, as part of a promotion campaign for the city’s ban on gas-powered leaf blowers.
Concurrent with this demonstration, there will be a community bike ride led by Councilman Michael Cacciotti and state Sen. Anthony Portantino starting at 10 a.m. at Garfield Park and following a loop through town. Bike riders are asked to meet at Stratford Avenue and Grevelia Street.

Attendance to the park demonstration is free. City officials and other professionals will showcase and demonstrate the usage of various electrified lawn equipment and provide information on how to transition to their use. There will be a free raffle, as well as food, music and other giveaways.
Those riding bikes are required to wear helmets and are encouraged to utilize other safety equipment.
The events are being put on in collaboration from Active SGV, the American Green Zone Alliance, the Upper San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District and Clean Air South Pasadena.
