One of the sounds of summer in South Pasadena could be heard last Sunday when the city’s Concerts in Park series made its debut at Garfield Park, 1000 Park Ave. Families and those who just wanted to come out and enjoy some music on a nice evening came out for a few hours of fun as they listened to the sounds of Escape: The Journey Tribute band.

The concerts will be held every other week until August 11. Here are the acts performing for the rest of the series:

• June 30: Louie Cruz Beltran (Latin music)

• July 14: The Wiseguys Big Band Machine (Swing/Big Band)

• July 28: The Kings of 88 (Classic Piano Rock)

• August 11: Blue Breeze Band (R&B/Funk/Blues)

The concerts are made possible through the financial support of businesses and individuals including Aztlan Athletics, Pansky Markle Attorneys at Law, SOSOUND Entertainment and LA County Supervisor Kathryn Barger.
