South Pasadena will be dancing at the 10th Annual Eclectic Music Festival & Art Walk on April 28th. Business owners are ready to welcome festival-goers with special events and activities – you won’t want to miss anything! Everything from live DJ’s, pop-up exhibitions, to flower bracelet making and face painting means there is something for everyone! The eateries in town will be featuring special menu items. Come on out and celebrate the local businesses that make our city unlike any other!
Live music is being featured at many of the boutiques and restaurants in town: Old Focals will feature Twanguero in a special solo performance (before they hit the Mission East Stage with the rest of the band, Crimson Crowbar and The Drive, with music starting at 3:00 pm. Music at Vave Studios starts at 3:30 pm with The Geminis, followed by JEMS and capping the line-up with The Dales. They will also feature artisan items and a flower-bracelet making workshop. Mission Tile East joins the Eclectic this year with all-girls’ band Bad Posture, with a very eclectic line-up ending with local fave Disco Mechanic. Arroyo Outdoor hosts the SPARC stage, with the music starting at 4:00 and continuing until 9:30 pm. Simplee Boba hosts another local favorite, Tisa Adamson and Randy Ray Mitchell, and finishing with the Americana sounds of John Zipperer. The Blue Guitar Stage @ Crossings has a variety of jazz musicians, starting with the Hank Mehren Trio, followed by the Peter Sprague Trio, the Greg Poree Group and rounding out the evening with the Molly Miller Trio. The Griffins of Kinsale Stage begins the Eclectic with Grondle, followed by Buddy Zapata’s Junkshop Republic and Corrina Carter. The Drive has an encore performance at Griffin’s to finish out the evening. The popular open mic is moving to Heirloom this year; come on by at 3:00 and sing a song or two, then listen to the talented Bungalow Bill & Friends starting at 6:00.
