Boys and Girls Cross Country captured their respective Rio Hondo League titles on Thursday at Lacy Park in San Marino. Next up for cross country is the CIF Prelims on Saturday Nov. 10, according to Greg Luna, SPHS athletic director.

Girls varsity tennis won their first round CIF match on Wednesday, Oct. 31, at Hemet in Riverside County. The Tigers tennis squad has not made it into the second round for at least a decade, according to Luna.

“It predates me,” Luna said in a text message to The Review. The Tigers are hosting Garden Grove in second round play this afternoon starting at 2:00 p.m.

SPHS varsity water polo lost in the first round Tuesday to Redondo Union High School, 9-5, after going undefeated in RHL play. The Tigers took home first place in the RHL standings. Redondo Union was also the team that ousted the Tigers last year in the semi-finals. (See Page 1 story in this week’s issue of The Review).

All other fall sports have concluded for the  season.
