The first Rio Hondo League cross-country meet of the school year was held at Lacy Park in San Marino on Thursday, Oct. 26 — and the South Pasadena High School boys and girls teams both finished in the money.
The boys team took first place with 30 points, followed by La
Canada with 36 and Temple City with 92. Sam Clark (left) starred for the boys squad, finishing his three-
mile race in 15:59, good for first place.
The South Pas girls placed second in their competition, finishing with 43 points – behind first-place La Canada (40) but ahead of third-place San Marino (70). Sydney Morrow (right) took the spotlight for South Pas, finishing third with a time of 18:48.
Teams from Blair, Monrovia, and Temple City also competed. The next Rio Hondo cross-country meet is scheduled for Oct. 15.
