South Pasadena Stars in Reel-y Big Show

South Pasadena is a wonderful place to live and work — and now the city has a video to prove it.

At the Oct. 2 City Council Meeting, Public Information Officer John Pope debuted the video — “South Pasadena: Come Grow With Us’’ — and announced the launch of a new YouTube channel for the City of South Pasadena.

“This project started a few months ago when Councilman Michael Cacciotti had returned from a trip to China,” said Pope. “He thanked me for the PowerPoint presentation that I had made for him of South Pasadena, but he said that other cities had great promotional videos and that we needed one.”

The two-minute vid, which showcases the residents and businesses in South Pasadena, was produced by Media 360, an award-winning multi-media company. It features multiple shots of residents out and about, in addition to a variety of local restaurants and retailers, including Jones Coffee, Fair Oaks Pharmacy and Videotheque.

“We had several goals with this video,” Pope explained. “Our City Council members can use this in presentations to promote economic development and help showcase the city as a place where investors can start a business or buy a home.”

In addition to the city’s website and YouTube channel, the promotional video will also be distributed through social media.

“We had a lot of business, retailers and restaurants who helped us, out so a big thank you to those folks on this list and our intern Christina Munoz, who coordinated with the various businesses,” said Pope.

“At its core, this video is a chance for us to really capture and showcase the spirit, energy, vibrancy and uniqueness of South Pasadena and build pride among residents.”
