Over 1,500 kids and parents attended last Saturday’s Colorfest, an annual event that raises money for the South Pasadena Educational Foundation (SPEF).
Held every year in the school district parking lot, Colorfest is inspired by Holi, the Hindu festival of colors, which celebrates the arrival of spring. Dressed in their most disposable clothes, kids ran around splashing powders of vibrant colors on each other on a day that reached temperatures exceeding 90 degrees.
Simplee Boba, Kona Ice, Menchie’s, Twohey’s, Namaste and Rasta Taco served food and provided refreshments throughout the day, and emcees Scott Moe and Gary Rolin kept the excitement level high.
