Gavin Chi scored four touchdowns on the ground, Jackson Totleben had another, Danny Rios hauled in a long TD pass and, a safety, South Pasadena High rolled to 44-0 win over Duarte Friday night.
With the win, South Pas improved to 2-1 on the season while Duarte dropped to 1-2.
Chi scored twice from a yard out and on a 27-yard carry all in the first quarter before going seven yards for his final TD in the fourth period. Justin Totleben also had a 10-yard touchdown run in the first quarter as the Tigers grabbed a 30-point lead.
South Pas climbed out to a 37-0 lead in the second quarter when quarterback Justin Huff connected with Rios on a 52-yard scoring pass with 7:47 left in the second quarter.
Chi finished the night with 90 yards on eight carries for an 11.2 yard average to go along with his four touchdowns. Totleben rushed for 61 yards on 5 carries for a 12.2 yard average. Glen Levstick ran for another 41 yards on 10 carries.
Next Friday the Tigers host Riverside Prep at home. The game gets underway at 7 p.m.
