In addition to this summer’s Concerts in The Park and the Festival of Balloons on Fourth of July, there are some other entertaining things to do throughout the summer in South Pasadena.
Movies In The Park
There’s fun at Garfield Park, 1000 Park Avenue, with two free screenings under the stars. Showing on June 21 will be “The Lego Movie 2” and on August 16 will be “Captain Marvel.” Movies begin at 8:15 p.m. Picnics are welcome and there will be light refreshments available for purchase. It is suggested that movie-goers bring blankets and/or low sitting chairs.
Shakespeare By The Sea in the Park
Also at Garfield Park will be two Shakespeare By The Sea events. The first is “Henry V” on Wednesday, July 31 at 7 p.m. and then “The Comedy of Errors” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1.
Same thing as the movies: Bring picnics, blankets and chairs.
Every Thursday from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. (except July 4) everything’s fresh at the South Pasadena Farmers’ Market.
The market is at Meridian Avenue and El Centro Streets. Free public parking is available in the school parking lot when there are no school events taking place.
Camps and Classes
There are many summer specialty camps available in the city as well as all types of classes for kids, from ballet to soccer. Go to southpasadenaca.gov and look for Recreation Classes.
